Another favorite designer of mine, Marc Jacobs. Actually Marc Jacobs has been a famous conversation between me and my sister. We both are very excited when we found out that the first Marc Jacobs boutique is opening soon in our prestigious mall. We are curious what style they’re gonna show us here.

Whenever I think about shoes, there are several names come to my mind and the one on top of the list would be this french designer, Christian Louboutin. I have put his shoes on my vision board and I know someday I’ll get them all!

Talking about elegant pumps and sexy sandals, this man understands it all. Starting his design career at a very early age, there’s no question about his skills and imagination. Louboutin was born in 1963 and he had always been interested in women fashion since he was a kid. He was a freelancer in high-end fashion houses such as Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Maud Frison and Sidonie Larizzie, both in Italy and France.

In 1992, he opened his flagship boutique in Paris and that’s when Christian Louboutin was created.

At present, his fans include celebrities such as Lindsay Lohan, Gwen Stefani, Cameron Diaz, Catherine Zeta Jones, Nicole Kidman, Angelina Jolie, Kirsten Dunst and many more, not to mention the royal families.

His signature red soles will always remain special and one of the kind. For more information about this shoe genius, visit his official site!

Believe it or not, I was offered to work in DVF boutique as the marketing promotion here in my country a while ago. But I had to turn them down because of several reasons. It was a very proud moment though considering DVF has always been on my favorite list.

And now I wanna tell you more about this incredible and sophisticated lady who’s famous for her wrap-dresses and vintage style.

DVF was born in Brussels, Belgium and she studied Economics. In 1969, DVF moved to New York with her husband where she started her own business selling knit dresses. She first introduced her signature wrap-dress in 1973. As a matter of fact, it was so popular that New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art decided to display them.

And now, she offers more than just dresses (obviously). DVF has expanded her business to selling fine jewelry, fragrance, cosmetics and accessories. Her boutiques are spreaded all around the world from Paris to Hong Kong, Miami to even Jakarta.

What makes this lady is so special? Need I explain more? Just browse through some of her delicious Spring and Fall 2007 collection below.

When I first knew about Alexander McQueen, I thought his collection was rather weird and eccentric. Then, as time goes by, I realized that this guy is actually a genius, so I grew more and more in love with this english designer. His creations are totally knock-out with perfect detailing and amazing alterations.

Therefore, I present you, as the next VieCouture favorite designer, Mr. Alexander McQueen.

He was born in London in 1969 and started his career by the age of 16 as an apprentice in traditional tailors. At the age of 20, he was employed by designer Koji Tatsuno. McQueen later on traveled to Milan and became Romeo Gigli’s design assistant. He then returned to London and completed his Masters Degree in Fashion Design.

Throughout his career, McQueen has received several awards, such as from CFDA as the International Designer of the year in 2003, the prestigious award from the Queen herself as the “Most Excellent Commander of  the British Empire”. He was also awarded as the British Menswear Designer of the year in 2004.

Besides haute couture, his creations include shoes, fragrance, menswear, eyewear and accessories. Clearly this genius doesn’t plan to stop. Let’s wait what else he has in the store for us!

Here are some of his breathtaking creations from Spring – Fall 2007!

If you’re looking for a whimsical design with attitude yet still looking all pretty and girly, Betsey Johnson is the one you should go to! I can’t begin to tell you how much I love her!

It’s like everytime she launches new things, my eyes and my heart are going berserk (in a good way) lol.. So, it’s my honor to present the next favorite designer from VieCouture, Ms. Betsey Johnson!

Betsey was born in Wethersfield, Connecticut, August 10, 1942 and has been rocking the fashion industry since the 60’s. In 1999, Betsey received CFDA The Timeless Talent Award. She spent most of her childhood in dancing where she found the costumes to be the endless inspiration and the source for her creativity.

In the early 1970’s, she took control of a brand Alley Cat, a label that set the trend for rock ‘n roll clothing with a touch of bohemian and ethnic. Then later on 1972, Betsey received another award and this time it’s the Coty Award (she was the youngest designer).

And now, her creations can be seen in celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Salma Hayek, Courtney Love and many more.

As a breast cancer survivor, Betsey has also contributed a lot in battling the disease by making numerous actions such as raising events, and creating one of the kind items to be sold in auctions.

Here’s a quote from Ms. Johnson herself when asked about fashion:

“Making clothes involves what I like…color, pattern, shape and movement…I like the everyday process…the people, the pressure, the surprise of seeing the work come alive walking and dancing around on strangers. Like red lipstick on the mouth, my products wake up and brighten and bring the wearer to life…drawing attention to her beauty and specialness…her moods and movements…her dreams and fantasies.” – Betsey Johnson

Here are some of her latest Spring and Fall Collection 2007 that I totally LOVE!

I’ve decided to add one more category in VieCouture; Favorite Designers. I know I should have done this long time ago lol.. I mean, we got Favorite Models, of course we gotta have Favorite Designers. Without them, there won’t be any favorite models, oui?

So today I figure that I need to add this new section to spice things up a bit more. And I’d like to start the page with my most favorite and respected designer ever, Mr. Valentino! He’s definitely the man, the master genius and the one who’s responsible for my drooling moments everytime I walk pass his boutiques lol..

Valentino was born with complete name of Valentino Clemente Ludovico Garavani (phew!) in May 11, 1933.

His designs are known to be very romantic, very feminine and always accentuates a woman’s figure. To him, every woman has to look beautiful no matter what. He has dressed numerous stunning ladies for decades, starting from Jacqueline Kennedy Onnasis, Joan Collins, Princess Grace of Monaco, Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn, Sophia Loren to the current celebs such as Lindsay Lohan, Halle Berry, Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Garner, Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Watts and many more.

His apparel designs are divided into 3; Valentino Pret-a-Porter, Valentino Roma and R.E.D Valentino

There are so many accomplishments received by this man, such as the 1967 Neiman Marcus Award in Dallas (this is equal to Oscars in fashion), the 1984 Official Award from Ministry of Industry, the 1985 Grand’Ufficiale dell’Ordine al Merito by the President of Italy, and the 2006 Legion d’Honneur from President Chirac.

Together with his partner, Giancarlo Giammeti, they found LIFE (initials in Italian for Fighting, Informing, Building and Teaching in February 1990. It’s an association to fight against AIDS.

So much to tell about this magnificent guy and I’m honored to put him as top of my Favorite Designer list. For more of his biography, you can check on his Wikipedia.

Here are some of his latest and gorgeous masterpiece.
