Je T’aime from Rusly Tjohnardi

I have known this guy for about 15 years. We used to go to the same school together and I have always admired his artwork. It seems that designing has always been in his blood. He’s like a brother to me and even though we don’t hang out as much, but we always keep in touch.

Wednesday, 28 February 2007 was a historical day for him. He was officially accepted as the newest member for Indonesian Fashion Designer Council. His work has been all over fashion magazines and his clientele is way too many to count. I’m always proud of his work and I’ll always support him no matter what. So, me and everyone were at the show Wednesday evening (we even got the backstage pass) There were 60 gowns presented, worn by 60 models. So, you can imagine how nervous he was. Overall, the show went well, the audience loved the collection and we were all happy about it.

For this show, Rusly used the theme “Je T’aime”, most of his stuff are made out of high-quality materials, such as the famous french lace, the gorgeous Swarovski crystals, and not to mention the feathers, the bows and all that. Unlike Didi, he focused more on the sweet and playful colors. His couture gowns are surely one of the kind (there’s no way you can put them on yourself, you’ll need assistance! yup, it’s THAT elaborate).

I dedicate this post especially for him. For his hard work and undying love for fashion.

In the meantime, enjoy his work!
