by Vie on April 12, 2012

In case you didn’t know yet, pale colors are totally in demand for this season. Be it pale colored dresses, shoes or nail polish! Today I get the chance to make a nice comparison between 2 of the most lovable brands in nail industry, Essie and Pop Beauty. I notice that they recently added these colors as part of their Spring campaign. We are already familiar with Pop Beauty Nail Glam and this time they come in pretty pale shades to celebrate the romantic Spring while Essie made these pales as part of their special Wedding Collection. At a glance they might look quite the same but if you take a closer look, you’ll find the distinctive difference. So, which one are you? The Pop diva or the Essie girl? ; )

2. Essie Instant Hot, Who is the Boss, Like to be bad, Love & Acceptance. US$8 each.

Dear Vie,

One of my obsessions is collecting new fragrances. I wish you could write more about perfumes. Do you think you can list down new perfumes for Spring/Summer? I’d love to be updated with the season’s most formidable scents.

Thank you,
Simone

Hi Simone, thank you for writing me! and I’m sorry that I hadn’t written much about perfumes. I accept your advice and would put it in my future writings. This Spring is full of beautiful and amazing perfumes and I’m happy to be able to share them with you. Whether you’re a fruity or a floral kinda girl, I got it covered. So enjoy this little scented list!

Spring Perfumes 2012

1. Valentino Valentina Eau de Parfum. US$80 (1.7oz) – US$108 (2.7oz).
If you’re looking for something graceful with feminine floral scent, then you can choose this new perfume from Valentino. It is a wonderful blend of Calabrian bergamot, white alba truffle, white flowers, wild strawberry, ambery woods, cedar and amber. It’s also nicely packed in elegant and vintage bottle. A definite collector’s item!

2. Chloe L’Eau de Chloe. US$85 (3.4oz).
For more carefree, free-spirited scent, Chloe has this amazing perfume to make your Spring even more memorable. Enjoy wonderful mix of refreshing notes of grapefruit, cedrat and sweet peach, natural rose water, cedar wood, patchouli essence and amber. Sounds exotic to me!

3. Ralph Lauren Romance Summer Blossom. US$72 (3.4oz).
From the bottle itself you can tell that this is a scent of romance. A sweet romance of  mandarin, guava, jasmine, coconut water, and vanilla. What a playful and flirty fragrance to wear in sunny days.

4. Salvatore Ferragamo Signorina Fragrance. US$74 (50ml) – US$98 (100ml).
Chic and simple, this sweet and feminine fragrance from Salvatore Ferragamo is so charming and delicate. You can wear this for your day out or night date, thanks to the wonderful mix of jasmine and pannacotta.

5. Yves Saint Laurent Paris Premiere Roses. US$95 (125ml).
For Springtime romance, this new perfume from YSL is just perfect. Indulge yourself with sensual and romantic scents of  Eglantine rose, peony, Lily of the Valley and white musk.

6. Versace Yellow Diamond. US$50 (1.0oz) – US$67 (1.7oz) – US$88 (3.00z).
We all know how special yellow diamond is, same thing goes to this new fragrance from Versace. You’ll find amazing potion of Citron from Diamante, Pear Sorbet, Neroli, Bergamot, Nymphea, Freesia, Orange Blossom, Mimosa, Amber Wood, Palo Santo, and Musk.

Betsey Johnson Scented Nail Polish

When it comes to manicure and pedicure, I’m a complete addict. I love having neat and clean nails. I believe that you can know what a person is like by looking at their nails. If they’re at least clean and neat (doesn’t necessarily have to be well groomed), then you know that they take good care of themselves. Speaking of nails, I also love experimenting with different colors, although for regular days I’d stick to classic French but there are days when I feel like having shocking pink, orange or green. However, there’s one thing I dislike about nail colors; their strong and distinctive smell. Some of them are so strong you’d need to put your mask on.

However, there’s always a solution for every problem, in this case, a scented nail color. Betsey Johnson recently introduced her signature Too Too scented nail polish! If you love the perfume, then you’re gonna love the nail color. They complement your girly afternoon and a fun girl’s night out. With her signature neon pink color, you’ll feel nothing but fun, flirty love. It’s definitely a must-have product of the week! US$9.50.
