VieCouture Style Focus: Watches

by Vie on September 17, 2013

With so many advanced and hi-tech gadgets in the market, more and more ladies leave their watch at home, because they can check the time on their phone, iPad or other smart devices. Little do they know that watch is considered to be a prime accessory. Not only for the functionality but also for the fashion value. This gives me enough reason to make watches as the style focus for today, and I have Ernest Jones to thank to. This UK based company offers more than just designer watches but also high quality jewelry. So here are some of good looking watches that I find from the site, watches so divine you can wear them day or night.

1. Fun and Fancy.
Ernest Jones Watches

If you consider yourself a fun and fancy kind of girl, you should go for a strap/leather watch. Take these watches for example, Vivienne Westwood, Folli Follie and Marc Jacobs — not only do they look fashionably stylish but at the same less formal, which is the look you want to achieve. Such a perfect sidekick for your daily activities!

2. Formal and Elegant.
Ernest Jones Watches

Nothing beats formal and elegant than a good shine of gold and silver, which is why you would want to circle these watches if that’s the case. I like Tissot for the unique circle chains, Folli Follie for the glamorous pave crystals and DKNY for the soft and elegant rose gold color. They blend beautifully in your office meetings or high-end parties.

3. Smart and Casual.

Going casual is always a smart choice, especially if you look for comfort. For this type of style, you can count on these 3 designers to bring you not only fashion but also function. That’s right ladies, these watches serve their purpose right — giving you daily comfort and at the same time, bring out the high-style in you.

What to Wear For Your Next Holiday Party

Filed under Fashion,News, Tips & Trends

by Vie on November 30, 2011

I am so excited that December is finally here. Today I plan to take my Christmas tree out. My favorite activities in December include decorating the tree, watching Christmas movies and playing Christmas songs (OK, and doing Christmas shopping, too ; ) December also means celebration, whether you celebrate it at church or with family and friends, you need to look good and feel good. For that, I am here to assist you. Today I’ll be talking about Holiday Party Looks. That’s right ladies, I have found 4 different and amazing looks for everyone. Classic, sexy, sweet or classy, I got them all covered. Hope they give you some real good dress-up ideas. Enjoy!

Holiday Party Looks Chic City Girl

If you consider little black dress is your style, then you are definitely in the City Girl category. I personally think this look is simple but very elegant. For this look book, I take Rebecca Taylor’s satin dress (US$425) because I think it’s full of fun & glamor, then I match it with Mango’s hot clutch bag (US$89.90), along with unique soles from Charlotte Olympia (US$805) to brush up your dolly look. As for the final touch up, I have this unique necklace from House of Harlow 1960 (US$132) and sexy mysterious red for your lips from Yves Saint Laurent (US$34).

Holiday Party Looks The Little Sweetheart

From sexy city girl, we move to a more subtle and sweet looking, the Little Sweetheart! When you feel romantic and girly, then you can consider having this look for your party. This lovely little dress from Notte by Marchesa (US$695) is so pretty you will look like a doll in it. Now we just need to put you in pale pink heels, like this pair from Calvin Klein (US$37.25), then we match them with a little crossbody/clutch bag from Big Buddha (US$49.99). Of course that’s not all, we need to add a bit more bling, that’s when this set from Dorothy Perkins come along, a stunning crystal chiffon set (US$27). Last but not least, we gotta powder you up with this luxurious pressed palette from Guerlain (US$67).

Holiday Party Looks Vintage Darling

Seen a lot of old movies lately and got inspired by them? Then you’re bound to be the Vintage Darling. This classic “oldie” look is so astonishing I have a good time mixing and matching. I found this adorable cotton dress from Vivienne Westwood (US$710), then I was taken to this charming little bag from Milly (US$265), isn’t it just adorable? Next, I figured I need to find Mary Jane shoes to complete this whole vintage vibe, therefore I found this suede pair from Topshop (US$136). And then, I thought to myself, wouldn’t it be great if I could also include one of the most fashionable cities in the world to represent this classy look? So I was browsing for some options and my choice goes to this exquisite vintage cuff from Evocateur (US$298), it’s so perfect! And finally, I closed my finding with a must-have liquid liner from MAC (US$17.50) because when you wanna go back in time, you’re gonna need a lot of black liner to define your sexy peepers! : )

Holiday Party Looks The Runway Diva

Finally, we have the Runway Diva for those who never want to get out of style, who worship glamor and never missed any runway shows. This particular look is full of feminine flavors, from the stunning floral dress from Tibi (US$570), the adorable bow clutch from See by Chloe (US$360) and the sexy fishnet shoes from Martinez Valero (US$76.99). These 3 elements are enough to give you the high-profile look, but how about we add a bit more color and glam? Like a pair of bow & pearl earrings from Juicy Couture (US$48) and a brush of  Dior’s flashing red nail lacquer (US$22). Now that your diva look is completed, you are welcome to show it off!

So what do you think ladies, which look would you go for? : )

3 Different Ways to Wear Your Tartan Right

Filed under Fashion,News, Tips & Trends

by Vie on September 19, 2011

Hi Vie,

I recently discovered your blog and my favorite category is the style focus! I wonder if you can create a style focus for tartan in different styles? I’m a big fan of tartan and would love to see as many diversions as possible. Thanks!

Regards,
Cheryl

Thank you Cheryl for your email! Tartan is a perfect choice for Fall fashion because they’re usually are made out of warm materials such as wool. Just like you, I’m also a tartan lover. I think they’re great because you can wear them to work or to parties! Here are some styles that I can think of and I hope you like all of them. Cheers!

1. Dressy Tartan

This is a nice option when you have concerts or parties to attend. Not so funky but definitely not boring at all. I love how it flatters your body instantly and gives you the sassy punk-chic look. Made of wool with cotton lining, you can absolutely rock any event when you put on this amazing dress!

3. Clarins Instant Eyeliner. US$26.
4. Rebecca Minkoff Vanity Cross body Bag. US$495.
5. DKNY Bangor Boots. US$160.

2.  Gothic Tartan.

When I was a teen, I love dressing up gothic style and for the longest time I associated tartan with this particular fashion. I remember I have at least 3 tartan mini skirts in my closet and I love matching them with my Emily Strange shirts or plain white/black tees. This compilation reminds me of how I used to dress up when I’m out with friends for nice punk parties, sans the boots of course, it’s way too hot to wear boots here, I usually finished the look with my trusted Converse ; )
